Off to the sea...

Well, this term certainly has flown by - its incredible to think the girls just started school and today they ended their first term - and so much has happened.
Angelique got her learners licence and then last Friday, she got her first car - She is so excited - it still hasn't quiet sunk in yet for her:)
Crystal has started Hockey and was chosen for the second team yesterday at trials - great excitement... their first match is the second day of the new term, so she will have to stay fit this holiday:)
I have passed my exams and re-registered for this year - my first assignment almost done:) Wow!! What a mouthful - I guess I need to become a more dedicated blogger..
Well, we're off the the coast for five days, leaving early tomorrow morning/dawn - next week, Wed, my Hubby and I will be married for 20 years, so a little break away would be good - I'm so looking forward to just sitting and watching the sea and the sunset over the sea - I love it:)
Well, off to chase the girls on to get ready for Youth tonight and then I must start packing.
Chat soon:) Love:)

Back to school...

.... Well, its back to school for both my daughters today. As I mentioned last year, my eldest daughter is Headgirl and in Matric this year, and so she left this morning with bags and bags of goodies for the new Grade 8 girls that are coming to the Convent and for the other new girls .... shame, she was so nervous but excited at the same time - she worked until late last night making Welcome cards for the girls, laminating them, stapling choccies on, etc. She also had to prepare speeches for today and bible readings etc...
As for my youngest daughter who is now in Grade 10 ........ great excitement to get back to school to all her friends, and her highlight - no German - which was compulsory until the end of Grade 9:)
As for myself, my exams are finally over - they were really difficult and a challenge, but now I will just have to wait patiently for results to see what subjects I can register for this year - Post Grad registration ends on April 2, so for the next few months I might even get to scrapping - my passion - which I never seem to get to. I have a Christmas album to finish and then I'm going to do Wilna's valentines class - love her work, she is so creative and talented. Her class only starts on Feb 1 so hopefully my Christmas album will be done by then.
Off to Bible Study shortly, but hoping to post tomorrow morning too
Lots of love
Helen:)

Exams in January......

...are no fun!! Next week this time I'll be on my way to UNISA to write my first exam - HBEDTRD - Philosphy, Theory and Research... Writing exams this time of the year is no fun - wait - I already said that - Anyway, I guess I should stop complaining and get on with learning.

Therefore, my new years resolutions and all the rest that go with it will only be revealed once I
finish my exams. I put my pen down on Thurs 5.00pm, the 15th....... after writing Educational Pshychology, Modern and Postmodern Curriculum. Then ...............I'm going to have a carefree weekend, get my girls ready and sorted for school - go shopping with them, watch a movie or two and when they go back to school on the 21st of Jan, I'll start thinking of what my plans are for this year - in the meantime - back to the books....

Home Sweet Home

My girls got home last night and it is so nice to have them back - lots of excitement and chatter as I am told all the news and the highlights - again and again:)
I couldn't stand all the washing so i stayed up to 1am to wash everything, including the shoes they took with and their sleeping bags - now all is back to normal - clean!!!
Downloaded all the photos they took, some sweet, some very random - teenagers:)
So I had to pop out for a mini grocery shop this morn too, as according to my girls, there is 'nothing that they eat in the house' and so we are all happy again:) they are lying in front of the tellie, catching up on all their stories that they missed while they were away - I want to quickly work a little on my December Daily and then I think i will have run out of excuses and might well have to study a little:(

Missing my girls...

.... even though its just been 3 days and 3 nights - I am missing my girls terribly. I have spoken to them on the phone but the signal is so bad that the conversations were only made up of broken words and 'pardon' 'can't hear you' etc. Anyway, the sms system works better but I only seem to get news early in the morning or late at night - they are having a great time, its just the heat that seems to be hectic, but they seem to be getting a lot of swimming done too. They travel home tomorrow after lunch and will be back in Roodepoort around 9pm?? Can't wait to see them and hear all the news in detail. Michelle, Mercia and myself had a study session yesterday, but didn't actually get to the studying - we had copious amounts of coffee and worked out all the things we have to study with a timeline - now i have to actually just sit down and start with the studying, but there always seems to be something else that has to be done - enough complaining. My dear friend Juliet is coming for tea tomorrow morn, and then we can catch up on all our news.
Next week, I have to finalise my Christmas shopping and luckily my girls can do the wrapping for me - which reminds me - while they were on camp, my Hubby and I bought their Christmas gifts, wrapped and hid them away. Can't say what they are in case my girls check out my blog - hee hee:)
